Titans Overview Heading into Week 4

Heading into week 4 against the Cleveland Browns, the Titans sport a 2-1 record, with victories versus the Ravens and Broncos, and a week 1 loss to the Jaguars. Matt Hasselbeck, our veteran quarterback, has played tremendously and was a great offseason pickup. He has already thrown for 932 yards and 5 TD's, and has shown leadership on the field.

Chris Johnson has done close to nothing. Here are his stats through 3 games: 46 carries, 98 yards, no TD's. Not exactly worth the 53.5 million dollars we payed him. And it's not the offensive line's fault, nor is it because of a lack of a passing game; it's all on him. The lockout clearly hurt him, BAD. Yet Johnson is an all-world talent: He will get back on track, maybe as soon as this week vs the Browns.

A huge blow to our team was Kenny Britt being put on the IR with a torn ACL and MCL. Britt lead the AFC in receiving before the injury, and was going on to having a monster season.

Finally, on to the defense. The Titans' defense is the number 1 ranked D in the entire league, averaging barely 261 yards per game. Akeem Ayers has played well as a rookie, and Barret Ruud, our free-agent pickup, has been stellar at MLB. Finally, our secondary has been fantastic. Names like Finnegan, Griffin, and the up-and-coming Jason McCourty have all but shut down opponent's passing games.

For this week, I expect the Titans to win on the road against the Browns, 17-14. The key to the game is stopping Peyton Hillis. It;s simple: If we stop Hillis, we win the game. As for CJ2K, expect an improvement this game, but not the electrifying superstar like we had last year...not YET.
